Legacy portraits and archival prints
When your family's story is scattered across mismatched frames
Grandma's wedding photo is in a drawer, your parents hang crooked in the hallway, and your kids live on your phone. Here is how a legacy wall brings every generation together in one place, made to last.
Picture a Sunday dinner. Your youngest asks who the man in uniform is, the one in the little frame on the bookshelf. You know it is her great-grandfather. But his photo sits across the room from your parents' anniversary portrait, which hangs nowhere near the school pictures on the fridge.
The pieces of your family's story are all there. They just do not hang together, so nobody can read it.
What a scattered story costs you
When portraits live in different frames, sizes and corners of the house, the connections between them get lost. Children never see their own face beside a grandparent's at the same age. The oldest photos stay in drawers because they do not match anything else.
And the longer it waits, the more the people who can name every face get older. The chance to hand down a story that makes sense, not just a pile of pictures, slips away a little each year.
How we bring the generations together
We start by talking with you about which generations you want on the wall and what you already have. Every portrait session we do is custom, designed for your family.
Old photos come first. We scan them and, where they are torn, stained or faded, our photo restoration brings them back so they can stand beside new work.
Next, we photograph the living generations in a session planned around your family, at our studio in Falkland. Professional photo editing then helps old and new images sit comfortably together.
With legacy wall design, we plan how the portraits will hang as one display, so the story reads from one generation to the next.
Finally, each portrait is printed on museum-quality archival paper, acid free, with inks made to stand the test of time. The prints are matted and framed correctly to protect the work: the professional frame is sealed airtight, with UV protection, and shields against dust, moisture and insects. Andrea wears gloves when handling every print, so nothing reaches your wall but the image.
What changes on your wall
The next time someone asks who the man in uniform is, you can walk them to the wall and show them. Great-grandfather, grandparents, parents, children, side by side, in prints meant to last for generations.
Instead of scattered photos, you have one story your family can read, and one you can pass down whole. If you are in Kamloops, Vernon or anywhere in the Okanagan, let us help you put it together.
