Legacy portraits and archival prints
The family portrait with every generation that you keep putting off
Every holiday, someone says you should get a real picture of everyone together, and every year it doesn't happen. Here is how we make the portrait of every generation happen, and make it last.
Picture the last big family dinner. Grandma at the head of the table, the grandkids squeezed in at the end, someone saying, "We really should get a proper picture of all of us." Everyone agrees. Then the dishes get done, people drive home, and the moment passes again.
When you go looking for a photo of the whole family, you find pieces. Grandpa with two of the cousins. Your kids with their great-aunt. A group shot where half the faces are turned away and the person holding the phone isn't in it at all. There is no single picture where every generation stands together.
What waiting costs
The portrait you mean to take someday has a deadline nobody likes to name. Grandparents age, children grow out of the stage you love, and families spread out across the province and beyond. The chance to gather everyone in one frame does not stay open forever.
When it closes, no snapshot can stand in for it. Your grandchildren will ask what everyone looked like together, and you will only have pieces to show them.
How we bring every generation into one portrait
We start with a conversation, because every legacy portrait session is custom designed for your family. We talk about who will be there, which pairings matter to you, and what you want the finished portrait to feel like. That might be all the grandchildren gathered around their grandparents, or a mother, daughter and granddaughter side by side.
Then you come to our studio in Falkland, which serves families from Kamloops, Vernon and across the Okanagan. Your job is to show up together. Ours is to guide the session so everyone is in the picture, including the person who is usually behind the phone.
Afterwards, we deliver the portrait as a museum-grade archival matted print on acid-free paper, printed with inks that stand the test of time. It is framed properly, with airtight sealing and UV protection that shields it from dust, moisture and insects. Andrea wears gloves when handling every print, so it reaches you as it left the studio.
If older family photos belong beside the new portrait, our photo restoration, scanning and legacy wall design services can help you build a wall that shows the whole family line.
What changes for you
The "someday" photo gets taken. Instead of scattered snapshots, you have one portrait of everyone who matters, on your wall now and ready to hand down to the people who come after you.
Gather the family while everyone is here. Start with a conversation, and we will plan the rest.
