Most people who want glamour portraits stall at the same place: the closet. You don't need a new dress or a shopping trip, because wardrobe styling is part of the session, including gowns from our studio wardrobe.
Picture it. Your 80th birthday is coming, or you've simply decided it's time to do something for yourself. You've wanted glamour portraits for years. Then you open the closet.
Everything in it is practical. Clothes for errands, for work, for the garden. Nothing looks like the woman you picture in a beautiful portrait. So you close the door and tell yourself you'll book once you find the right dress.
Months go by. The birthday comes and goes. The portraits never happen.
What "nothing to wear" really costs you
It isn't really about clothes. It's the milestone passing without anything to mark it. It's another year where the only photos of you are cropped phone snaps at family dinners.
It also turns a treat into a chore. Shopping trips and second-guessing in fitting rooms are exactly what make you put this off.
How we take the wardrobe off your plate
Wardrobe styling is built into every glamour session, so you don't have to work it out alone.
First, a discovery call. You tell us what you're celebrating and how you'd like to feel in your portraits.
Next, a consultation to plan your session. This is where we talk through outfits. Bring your favourites if you have them, casual or formal. That soft sweater you love or the dress from your anniversary dinner both work.
If your closet falls short, you can choose gowns and outfits from our studio wardrobe. Prop and gown rental is also available, so the dress you've always imagined yourself in is within reach without buying one.
On your photo day, plan to spend up to four hours with us. A professional styles your hair and does your makeup. Then we style your outfit before any photos are taken, so you step in front of the camera already looking finished.
About a week later, you come back to see your images and choose your favourites. You'll only see retouched photos, never unretouched ones.
What changes when the closet stops being the obstacle
You stop waiting for the perfect dress and book the session you've been thinking about.
You walk in with whatever you have, or with nothing at all. You walk out having been photographed as the version of yourself you had in mind.
Your products arrive after your selection, with the warranty and print release. Every image you purchase comes with its matching digital file in colour and black and white.
Your birthday or your milestone gets the portraits it deserves. The closet doesn't get a say.
